$MOCA is the token that powers the Moca Network, an **interoperable consumer network of partner “subnets”** and their corresponding users.

`“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” - Aristotle`

The $MOCA token is the underlying resource that powers the network effect and brings all cultural economies together; including key pillars such as **music, sports, gaming, education, IP, and more**, regardless of any VMs, L1 and L2 chains.

$MOCA serves as a **utility and governance token** within the network, ensuring that all participant’s incentives are aligned:

* Partners contribute $MOCA to the network as “operators” of the network **sharing the public infrastructure and bootstrap growth** and audience through cross-pollination.
* Users can pay in $MOCA to participate in activities and **earn $MOCA based on their loyalty (actions) and reputation (strength)** within the network.&#x20;
* Users can spend $MOCA to gain early access to **purchase digital assets (where eligible) and in-product items** offered by the Partner Network, to onboard and participate in experiences.
* Users can spend $MOCA to access privileges and advantages in the network of a **reputation-based economy**.
* Users and Partners can spend $MOCA as **“gas” fees to adopt network infrastructure**, consume products and services, and access the Moca Network.

In this litepaper, we explore $MOCA's specifications, tokenomics, and how governance works for the Moca DAO. We discover real-world use cases and partnerships that demonstrate $MOCA's impact across communities, striving towards the vision of being:

`“1 $MOCA to unite all cultures”`<br>
